Sub:SESSION WITH CHAIRMAN, PRIME MINISTER'S ECONOMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL ON 24TH JUNE 2020

We are glad to inform you that The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Manufacturing Committee is organizing an Interactive Session with Dr Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council on the theme “Demand Creation for Manufacturing Led Growth” on 24th June 2020 (Wednesday) from 11 am to 12:30 pm.

This comes in the context of the impact caused by COVID -19 pandemic on Indian economy by not just disrupting supply chains but also demand in a major way. Reviving demand for manufacturing is going to be a long drawn challenge not for the Indian economy but for the global economy as a whole. The interaction is meant to understand the mechanism and share views on reviving manufacturing led growth of the country by means of demand stimulation.

Deliberations that will happen with Dr Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council will be highly impactful and useful for policy formation in the Government and therefore this will also be an appropriate platform to raise the concerns of the MMF textiles segment. To help this Council for taking up the problems and challenges being faced by the Members/ industry in production, export, etc. in view of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, it is requested to the Members to send their respective issues in the Format given below:

Note: #For information relating to export, payment, etc. please mention name of the markets, value & quantity, etc. ## Information provided will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone and the same will be represented from the Council as industry inputs.
